"Confession is always weakness. The grave soul keeps its own secrets, and takes it's own punishment in silence." -Dorothy Dix

Domestic violence crosses all walks of life, race, religion, and education. It happens behind closed doors and out of sight. The statistics are staggering: 1 in 3 women will experience physical violence from their partner and 1 in 4 men will experience violence from their spouse. While both men and women experience abuse at the hands of a loved one, 85% of these cases are women. Every day there are more than 20,000 phone calls to domestic violence hotlines.

Joan's Song is a film that aims to to shed light on the taboo subject of domestic violence and its aftermath.

With the recent #metoo movement, we wanted to give women in these cirumstances a voice. #metoo goes beyond physical abuse. Our goal is to empower women. We hope to inspire other women to tell their stories.
